World’s First AI-Safe Portfolio Platform for Artist’s


Kin.art introduces a pioneering solution that safeguards artists’ work from unauthorized AI training before the artwork is ever entered into an AI dataset. Unlike previous solutions that assume artwork has already been added to a dataset and attempt to poison the dataset after the fact, Kin.art prevents artists’ work from successfully being entered into a dataset in the first place.

Starting today, any artist using Kin.art to host their artwork as a portfolio management tool will benefit automatically from its AI protection features.

“You can think of Kin.art as the first line of defense for your artwork,” says Flor Ronsmans De Vry, CTO of Kin.art, who spearheaded the development of the platform. “While other tools such as Nightshade and Glaze try to mitigate the damage from your artwork already being included in a dataset, Kin.art prevents it from happening to begin with.”

Kin.art’s AI protection solution relies on a novel approach developed in-house by Ronsmans De Vry. “As AI datasets require pairs of images and labels to be used in conjunction to properly train the AI on what the images are, if we can disrupt either the image or the label associated with a given artwork, we can prevent the artwork from being successfully inserted into the dataset.“ Ronsmans De Vry says.

“We disrupt both of these inputs, using image segmentation to ensure a complete piece of artwork is never inserted into an AI dataset, and using tag randomization to ensure that appropriate labels are never associated with each image,” Ronsmans De Vry continues. “This dual approach guarantees that artists who showcase their portfolios on Kin.art are fully shielded from unauthorized AI training of their work.”

Kin.art was founded by CEO Mai Akiyoshi, former VP of Marketing at Logbar and senior engineer at Gusto, CTO Flor Ronsmans De Vry, former co-founder of Fuse Robotics, and COO Ben Yu, former co-founder of Stream and a recipient of the Thiel Fellowship. The team has raised over $3.4 million from VCs such as Maven Ventures and F7 Ventures to fulfill their mission of better helping artists and creators make a living from their work.
