Paris Gartner

Paris Gartner

Ocala Antique Mall & Estates
(352) 624-2511 (Office)

Paris Gartner was literally born into the antique sales business at the Ocala Antique Mall. Growing up, she was always surrounded by incredibly talented antiquity professionals and educators. Some people wonder how many lives she’s lived because of her vast knowledge in antiques. As they say: once it’s in your blood, it never leaves! Antiques have been a love for Paris’ entire life. Researching has always been of second-nature, so when you put the two together, you have Paris- someone with the constant will to learn about antiquities, their history, and value. In other words, Paris sees herself as a historian of “stuff.” Antiques have a long history that are typically linked to historical eras and ancient cultures. They are not only tangible items. Oftentimes, the story defines the object itself. Paris’ personal expertise falls in the era of the late 1700’s-1920’s. Whether it’s Primitive Americana, Empire, Gothic, Arts & Crafts, Victorian, Rococo Revival, Edwardian, Art Nouveau, American or European- fine furniture, furnishings, art, silver, and porcelain of this timeframe are among the few fields I specialize in. Being face-to-face with such rich history, hearing sentimental stories, discovering precious valuables, and learning something new every day are only a few reasons why Paris loves what she does. It’s like a treasure hunt every day of her life- and who doesn’t love a treasure hunt?! Paris says the fact that she’s had the opportunity to immerse herself in the area has been nothing short of a blessing. Hopefully, in years to come, Paris’ passion for antiques will pour into the hearts of others and continue to live on.

Susan Scaff

Another Memory Appraisals and Estate Sales, LLC
(904) 599-1976 (Office)

Susan Scaff, Graduate Certified Appraiser (GCA), is the proprietress of Another Memory Appraisals and Estate Sales, LLC serving St. Johns County and surrounding areas. Being certified in the areas of estate sale management as well as antiques and residential contents appraising, you can be confident she will provide you with due diligence research, accurate pricing and values.

In 2009, Susan started her part-time studies with the College for Appraisers (one of a few established at that time) and completed the USPAP requirements and her AA Cum Laude as a Graduate Certified Appraiser December 2012. Additionally in 2008, she was awarded a scholarship from ISA (International Society of Appraisers) to attend their yearly seminar featuring educational studies and hands-on valuations in Winston Salem, NC. During this period, Susan was “testing the waters” in appraising and hosting estate sales. It was well received in her community, and she felt she’d found her niche!

2010 found Susan ready to further broaden her studies into the management of estate sales. A well-recognized and respected estate sale company in Gainesville, Florida was hosting a seminar on The Business of Estate Sales which she attended. Since then, Susan has continued to attend educational seminars, visit auctions/shops to keep up with local trends/values, ensure her Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) certifications remain active all while hosting sales. Susan currently works with several law firms in estate management as well as private individuals. She is proud to say they utilize her services regularly and have referred clients for appraisals and sales. Personal word of mouth is the ultimate compliment. This has been Susan’s passion, and she’s never looked back.

Susan is a generalist appraiser. Knowing where to find the information on an item is half the battle. Appraisals are opinions of value and may differ from appraiser to appraiser. Part of the fun is discovering what an item is, it’s approx. age and value. When asked, “What should someone bring to an antique fair,” Susan will tell them to bring something they know nothing about. Try to stump the appraiser. It can be done! If you stump the appraiser, good for you! Don’t bring something you already know the history of unless its specific value is what you are looking for.
