The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame continues its streak of ignoring the majority of massive metal names, thanks to its 2024 nominees. This year’s sole metal nominee is Ozzy Osbourne, who absolutely deserves it, but is already in the Hall thanks to Black Sabbath‘s induction back in 2006.
The nominees are:
- Mary J. Blige
- Mariah Carey
- Cher
- Dave Matthews Band
- Eric B. & Rakim
- Foreigner
- Peter Frampton
- Jane’s Addiction
- Kool & the Gang
- Lenny Kravitz
- Oasis
- Sinead O’Connor
- Ozzy Osbourne
- Sade
- A Tribe Called Quest
“This remarkable list of Nominees reflects the diverse artists and music that the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame honors and celebrates” said John Sykes, Chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation.
Fan voting is open now until April 26, which you can participate in here. Finalists will be revealed in April, and an induction ceremony will take place later that year. And really, what else is there to say? Massively influential bands like Iron Maiden, Pantera, Motörhead, and way more continue to get snubbed by an institution whose reputation seems to only be getting worse as time wears on.
