CHA Art Space, a modular exhibit space located in the ticketing area of Chattanooga Airport, features a new juried show titled “UNFOLD.” Curated by local artist Carrie Pendergrass, this installation includes works from 14 local and regional artists and is the tenth installment since the art space’s debut in July 2021.
Officials said, “The term ‘unfold’ refers to the action of opening or spreading out from a folded position, or to reveal or disclose thoughts or information. It can also pertain to the revealing of information or a sequence of events.
“The ‘UNFOLD’ theme encouraged artists to interpret and reference it as they wished.
The show features a variety of art approaches in media, style and price.”
“All of the pieces are for sale, and proceeds will benefit both the artists and the continued operation of CHA ART SPACE to offer free public art exhibits in the future. We hope that viewers will consider purchasing original artwork, and by doing so, would be contributing to the cultural ecosystem of our community, as well as to our local economy,” said Ms. Pendergrass.
Artists included in “UNFOLD” are Lauren Adams, Jan Burleson (guest juror and artist), April Van Brunt, Deede Graham, Kate Greenwell, Lupina Haney, Faye Ives, Janice Kennedy, Katie Ward Knutson, Hao Luong, Aimee Maschhoff, Michael McCallie, Misty Ogle and Carrie Pendergrass (curator and artist).
The exhibit is open now through July.
