PORTLAND, Ore. (PORTLAND TRIBUNE) — When Michael Allen Harrison takes the stage at Beaverton’s The Reser later this month for his popular Ten Grands, it will be with a younger group of talent.

That means that other than veterans like himself and noted pianist Colleen Adent, the eight other pianists who will perform onstage with the 10 grand pianos range in age from 15 to 35, including Harrison’s daughter Esther.

And while past shows have featured such local luminaries as Tom Grant and John Nilsen, “it’s time to pass it on to the younger folks,” Harrison said.

Still, audience members will be treated to some top talent and showmanship featuring four ten-piano arrangements with everyone playing together. There also will be duets, solos and an “eight hands on two pianos” performance, said Harrison, a six-year resident of Washington County’s Oak Hills community.

Shows are set from Friday, June 28, through Sunday, June 30.
