Artists showcased at first Downtown Tracy Artwalk of the season | Tracy Press

The work of visual and performing artists was on display at the first Downtown Tracy Artwalk of the season Friday afternoon at the Grand Theatre Center for the Arts.

Painters, photographers, crafter, musicians and more had the chance toi display and sell their work to visitors.

The Artwalk had the debut of “KNOWbot the Robot,” the city of Tracy Cultural Arts Division’s Little Free Library created by local sculptor Mark Knize.

The robot is part of a collaborative marketing exchange and educational project between the Grand Theatre Center for the Arts and arts-related downtown businesses including Caspian Books, Blast from the Past and Main Street Music, which will use a $1,000 grant from the commission to sponsor the purchase of arts resources available to the public in the Grand’s Little Free Library this summer.

The next Artwalk will take place on July 26 and conclude on Oct. 26 in conjunction with the Grand’s Arts Education Department’s Dia de Los Muertos family day event.
