The Museum unveiled Maple Turner’s display Saturday morning.

Turner graduated from East High and Youngstown State University, according to a news release from the Mahoning Valley Historical Society.

His works focus on Gilded Age homes, people and carriages on Youngstown’s historic north side.

“It’s part of our story and cultural heritage and fine arts and decorative arts are part f that,” said Bill Lawson, executive director of the MVHS. “We have a lot of artists and artisans who are from here that did great work…Maple is part of that.”

Turner is bringing 22 new works of art to the museum where it will include Youngstown’s Wick Avenue and Crandall Park neighborhoods but also scenes from New York City where he lived between 1999 and 2005.

Turner’s work will be on display at the museum, which is open Tuesday through Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.

The exhibit runs through December.
