SUNY Ulster hosts three visiting artists – Daily Freeman


STONE RIDGE, N.Y. — SUNY Ulster’s Fall 2024 Visiting Artist Series exhibition titled “Making” featuring three contemporary Mid-Hudson Valley artists will be held at the college’s Muroff Kotler Visual Arts Gallery in Vanderlyn Hall from Sept. 5, to Dec. 6.

The exhibit will feature artists Michael Asbill, Thomas Sarrantonio and David Soman. An opening reception will be held on Thursday, Sept. 5, from 4-6 p.m. The event is free.

SUNY Ulster will also host a monthly lecture series with each artist sharing their thoughts and concepts, a news release said. Soman will open the series on Sept. 16. The second lecture featuring Sarrantonio is scheduled for Oct. 21. the final talk with Asbill is set for Nov. 18. Each lecture will be held from 1-2 p.m. in the Mountain View Room located in the Macdonald DeWitt Library.
