Applications open for Season/Series Artist Support Grants


BEMIDJI — The Region 2 Arts Council is seeking applicants for its Season/Series Artist Support Grant to help support arts organizations and nonprofits that do a high volume of arts activities or programming.

Season/Series Artist Support Grants are open to nonprofits, non-parochial public and charter schools, colleges, universities, community education programs, tribal government entities from Leech Lake, Red Lake and White Earth Nations and local government entities, arts organizations and arts affiliates.

These grants can help support arts activities including public art, arts festivals, participatory arts projects, engagement of guest artists, artist-in-residence programs, educational performances or programs, educational arts field trips, training or workshops, exhibitions, presentations or performances.

Proposed activities must be accessible to the public, have a strong community component and benefit the residents of Beltrami, Hubbard, Clearwater, Lake of the Woods or Mahnomen Counties, a release said.

Eligible organizations must have planned and executed at least four arts or arts and culture activities, programs, performances, projects or workshops accessible by the public within 24 months prior to the application deadline.

These proposals must include plans for at least two arts activities and show a commitment to developing new/and or expanded arts programming. Additional attention should be paid to:

  • Removing barriers that audiences may have to accessing arts activities.
  • Developing knowledge, skills and understanding for the arts for Minnesotans of all ages.
  • Representing through the arts the diverse ethnic and cultural arts traditions in our state.
  • Building bridges between Minnesotans through arts and culture.

The maximum award is $18,000.

Eligible organizations must be located in Beltrami, Hubbard, Clearwater, Lake of the Woods or Mahnomen Counties.
