IDA and Wexford County Council are teaming up to secure an advanced planning permission for an Advanced Building Solution (ABS) in Enniscorthy.

Welcoming the announcement, Minister of State Paul Kehoe said he sees the move as a vote of confidence in Wexford’s ability to attract international investment.

“The partnership will see the design and planning for state of the art facilities to be used for investment by multinational companies seeking to invest in the area.

“This development is a vote of confidence in the ability of Wexford to attract investment and sustain multinational operations, which will in turn bring massive benefit to the county, in terms of employment opportunities, further inward investment,” he said.

Deputy Kehoe owed the decision to developments Wexford has seen over the past number of years.

“There have been several key developments in Wexford over the last number of years which have made this progress possible,” he said.

“Connectivity provided by the expansion of the M11, the establishment of the SETU and todays news that the Wexford Campus is getting ever closer, the expansion of Rosslare Port to name a few,” he added.

A Memorandum of Understanding was drafted by IDA and shared with Wexford County Council for review. IDA has been informed via email that the terms of this MOU are agreed and we are awaiting return of the signed document for execution.

Once this is complete a tender will be issued by Wexford County Council for the design team to be appointed and following this an announcement will be made by Wexford County Council with the support of IDA’s Regional Communications team.
