WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) – A call for all local artists has been made by 9th Street Studios for its annual Memento Exhibition.
It’s a gathering of art based on items that tell a story, anything that you find precious can become something priceless.
Entries can come in any form of media, and anyone looking to join can submit their work with a short essay about why the item is meaningful to them.
You don’t need to worry about the essay being graded harshly , and if you need help the Wichita Falls Adult Literacy Council is offering assistance to artists for free.
“I think it just creates an invitation for dialogue. This particular event is really different from anything else we do because there’s so many people standing next to a piece of art and then sharing their personal stories with each other, making a new friend and really connecting deeply,” 9th STreet STudio Gallery Director, Amber Scott said.
The studio will be setting up the exhibit in Aug. and until then they have other artists with their works on display.
Right now they have works from Juan Cruz titled “Cheno,” or “Night,” on display, and on Feb. 10 you can stop by to meet the artist, it’s a free event to enjoy some art.
