Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens’ newest exhibition, “The Divine Feminine: Contemporary Women Sculptors,” is curated by Sarah Gavlak and Allison Raddock in partnership with New Wave. More than a dozen sculptures, ranging from 15” tall to over 9’ tall, are on display throughout the two-acre Gardens and the Artist Studio through May 1.
“‘The Divine Feminine’ celebrates the artistic talent and depth of an array of contemporary female sculptors,” said Margaret Horgan, executive director for the Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens. “This powerful partnership with New Wave invites visitors to explore the Gardens and sculptures as seen through the eyes of these celebrated artists, interspersed throughout Ann Weaver Norton’s monumental sculptures. Ann, being a fellow female sculptor, would have loved hosting this kind of transformative exhibition.”
The exhibit includes sculptures by Leilah Babirye, Judy Chicago, Ruth Duckworth,
Viola Frey, Katharina Fritsch, Rachel Lee Hovnanian, Niki de Saint Phalle, Arlene Shechet and Kiki Smith.
In addition to the New Wave partnership, sponsors include UOVO, Beth Rudin DeWoody, Thea Burger, Pace Gallery, Salon94, Jeffrey Deitch Gallery and Gavlak Gallery.
