Artis—Naples Calls For Artists: 2024 Naples International Film Festival Poster Competition

Artis—Naples announced an open call for emerging and established artists currently living and working in Florida to submit designs for the 2024 Naples International Film Festival (NIFF) poster.

This competition is in keeping with the multidisciplinary organization’s commitment to supporting the vibrant arts scene in the state of Florida. Submitted designs for the 2024 NIFF poster should address the theme of film as a multidisciplinary art form. Eligible artists must reside in or have a studio in the state of Florida and be at least 18 years of age. Students currently enrolled (at the time of application) as candidates for undergraduate art or design-related degrees are not eligible to apply.

“Artis—Naples is committed to nurturing Florida’s dynamic arts landscape, and this competition aims to amplify the voices and visions of our state’s talented artists,” said Courtney McNeil, The Baker Museum director and chief curator. “By focusing on film as a multidisciplinary art form in the 2024 NIFF poster, we aim to highlight the powerful impact film can have across various artistic realms.”

The Naples International Film Festival is a popular annual film festival in Southwest Florida that celebrates the art of independent film and presents a carefully curated program of more than 60 domestic and international narrative, documentary and short films throughout the four-day festival.

The three-person jury responsible for selecting the winning submission for the poster design is set to include: The Baker Museum Director and Chief Curator Courtney McNeil, NIFF Festival Producer Shannon Franklin and Naples Philharmonic Principal Pops Conductor Jack Everly.

The selected artist’s design will be featured on the 2024 NIFF poster, website, VIP badges and on the cover of the NIFF program book. It may also be featured on NIFF commemorative merchandise. The selected artist will have the opportunity to lead a public educational program at The Baker Museum in collaboration with the Artis—Naples education department. The winner will also be awarded an honorarium and complimentary tickets to the NIFF Preview Party and the NIFF Opening Night Film and Party.

Applicants wishing to participate in the competition can find submission guidelines at artisnaples.org/niffposter. The deadline for submissions is Friday, May 31, at 11:59 p.m.

The selected artist will be notified on or before July 31, and the winning design will be publicly announced at the NIFF Preview Party in mid-September 2024. ¦
