An Atlanta artist has been partnering with the city of Sandy Springs in a spring workshop for student artists to create work for the upcoming Juneteenth Celebration.

PeQue Brown has been working as an artist for the past 35 years and put his experience to work teaching the students the skills of digital art to create pieces around the theme, “What Freedom Means To Me.”

“The students have been working hard on their pieces. Their art has inspired me and I know will inspire so many who come to the celebration,” Brown said. “Art is my passion and it is an honor to have the opportunity to share my passion with students here in Sandy Springs.”

The digital art showcase by the students will offer augmented reality to bring the artwork to life for an interactive experience, according to a press release. The pieces will be displayed at City Springs’ Juneteenth celebration which will take place at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, June 19.

Brown, the founder and CEO of LIQUID Arts and Productions, dedicates much of his time to community improvement helping youth and young adults find meaning and purpose, according to the press release. He shares his art, experiences, and thoughts through fine art creations, illustrations, murals, and graphic art.

His artwork has been sought by Vice President Kamala Harris, the Los Angeles Lakers, and celebrities and entertainers worldwide.
