On Wednesday, May 1, the 64-year-old country icon took to social media to announce his return to the studio after his 2013 stroke. Randy Travis revealed that he’s preparing to release a new single titled “Where That Came From.”
“It’s been a while since my last new recording,” Travis shared alongside studio footage. “But I’m excited to share that this Friday, May 3, I will be releasing my first brand new studio recording in more than a decade, ‘Where That Came From.'”
Travis teased more details about the team behind this project, promising fans, “You’ll hear much more about the special team of folks who came together to help make this magical moment in my career possible in the coming week.”
Reflecting on his journey, Travis added, “In the meantime, just know that when it comes to me singing songs for you, there’s always more where that came from. Thank you for singing along all these years.”
Despite his stroke in 2013, Randy Travis has remained active through his 2019 memoir, Forever and Ever, Amen: A Memoir of Music, Faith and Braving the Storms of Life, a 2020 documentary, More Life, and previously recorded songs from his vault like “Fool’s Love Affair,” “One in a Row,” and “Lead Me Home.”
