GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – Artists set up shop inside the Shoppes at Thornebrook Village over the weekend to showcase their artwork.
The 3rd annual Thornebrook Spring Art Festival displayed pottery, stained glass, jewelry and so much more. Event organizers say the layout of the show is meant for people to take advantage of the different stores and restaurants in the area. One artist, Cynthia Bulcourf makes stained glass and has been doing so for 25 years after taking a class at Santa Fe College.
“I love birds and flowers, botanicals, so I have a lot of birds. Newest to my venue is the snowy owl panel. I love doing cross work, horses,” shared Bulcourf.
Paintings, wind chimes and sculptures were also on display. Another artist, Gail Green, likes to paint glasses with a fun twist.
“This is painted on glass and what I do is I paint so that no matter how you turn it you’re always looking at the front of the artwork, and they’re just fun to use,” Green said.
Along with different artists, some food vendors were also set up. If you missed this festival there is one held in the fall.
