SOUTHBURY — The Southbury Public Library, 100 Poverty Rd., has planned an artist’s talk and book signing with David K. Merrill from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, January 7, and Sunday January 21, in the Kingsley Room.
David K. Merrill is an artist known for “realistic renderings of rural New England, capturing the nostalgia of a passing era.”
He work has been exhibited at the Kent Art Association in 1969, 1973 and 1974; the Northern Vermont Artists Association in 1971-1974 and the Connecticut Academy of Fine Art in 1974.
Mr. Merrill has painted murals for the University of Maine and the town of Southbury. He was an instructor of art at the Southbury Training School.
His book, “David K. Merrill’s Lifetime of Painting,” will be available for sale at these events.
The program, free to attend and open to anyone regardless of town of residency, is sponsored by the Friends of the Southbury Library.
