Artists With the Most Nominations – Billboard


The Recording Academy announced the nominees for the 2024 Grammy Awards on Friday (Nov. 10), and it was women who ruled the nods.

“I have to say that this representation for female artists is not only exciting, but also [impressive] because so many different genres are being represented across our ballot,” Harvey Mason Jr., the Recording Academy’s CEO, told Billboard‘s sister publication Variety.

SZA led the pack with an impressive nine nominations, a trio of them in the Big Three categories of album, song and record of the year. Phoebe Bridgers and Victoria Monet came next with seven nods each, then Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, Brandy Clark John Batiste and Jack Antonoff with six each.

The “Used to Be Young” singer also shared her excitement about this year’s Grammy nominations giving female artists their … well … flowers. “Congratulations to all of this [year’s] Grammy nominees. Watching women win & rule the music industry makes me proud,” Cyrus tweeted after the nominations were announced. “It’s fun to be nominated & exciting to win but having my music be LOVED around the world is the real trophy.”

Mason Jr. praised Cyrus in a chat with Billboard after the nominations were revealed. “Something about what she’s done this year definitely moved the voters,” he noted of the former Disney Channel star. I’m really happy for her.”

The Academy’s CEO also shared his thoughts on top nominee, SZA, and how she’s impressed with her talent. “It’s really spectacular. She obviously had a banner year. Extremely, hyper-creative project,” he said of the star and her chart-topping album SOS. “She’s extremely talented. The music really resonated with our voters.”
