The Billboard Music Awards 2023 take place on Sunday 19 November, with the ceremony’s organisers rolling out a revamped format this year.
According to Billboard, viewers can expect “a reimagined award show concept that will entertain fans with music and exclusive content.” Rather than being held inside a single arena, the gala will feature performances and acceptance speeches “in global locations, in the midst of sold-out tours, and in custom venues”, the music magazine says.
What’s more, the Billboard Music Awards won’t be broadcast live on any television channels.

Music lovers will be able to watch the event online at BBMAs.watch from 8pm ET/5pm PT. They can also following all the awards announcements on the Billboard and Billboard Music Awards social-media channels.
Among the artists due to perform for the Billboard Music Awards are Mariah Carey, Karol G, Peso Pluma, Stray Kids, NewJeans and Bebe Rexha.
Billboard Music Awards 2023: nominations summary
Taylor Swift leads the nominations this year: the singer is up for no fewer than 20 Billboard Music Awards. Swift is followed by Morgan Wallen and SZA, who have 17 nominations each. The Weeknd is a contender for 16 prizes, while Drake and Zach Bryan have both been shortlisted for 14.
The most-nominated Latin artists are Bad Bunny and Peso Pluma, who are in the running for six awards each. Eslabón Armado and Karol G both have five nominations.
Meanwhile, in addition to performing “All I Want for Christmas” during the ceremony, Carey will receive the Billboard Chart Achievement Award.
