With the aim of helping artists better understand the creative and business side of their work and fostering a community around it, Amplify Music Incubator (AMI) returns for its 7th edition between June 11 – July 22 with applications for it open till midnight on May 25.
The programme takes place in a hybrid format with 5 weeks of creative and cultural entrepreneurship training through industry professionals before a final week-long residency in Goa that will culminate with a showcase. The training is expected to build a greater understanding of creative collaboration, copyrights and royalties, PR and marketing, streaming and even styling for shows alongside an emphasis on well-being through workshops and talks around enabling artists to better nurture themselves.
Hosted as a not-for-profit initiative by agency Gatecrash and the Music Mulakatein Foundation with support from Canada’s Music Incubator, AMI has previously benefitted the likes of T.ill Apes, Anoushka Maskey, Sheherazaad, RANJ + Clifr and Easy Wanderlings.
With 15 spots to be secured via the open call, AMI is looking for artists who demonstrate seriousness for their projects, which will be gauged via previous work like history of releases, live shows etc. AMI founder Tanish Thakker adds: “We also like seeing artists who want to invest in learning and developing themselves but are also willing to contribute to the community that we are building.”
Apply here before midnight on May 25 to participate in the open call.
