Jackson, MS…The Mississippi Museum of Art is pleased to announce the call for artists for the 2025 Mississippi Invitational exhibition, a biennial showcase of recent works by contemporary visual artists residing and working in the state.

To be considered for inclusion in the 2025 exhibition, artists across Mississippi are invited to submit work samples by September 13, 2024.

Artists selected for inclusion will also be eligible to apply for The Jane Crater Hiatt Artist Fellowship—a grant of up to $20,000 awarded to one artist.

The exhibition, opening in July 2025, is curated by TK Smith, Curator of the Arts of Africa and the African Diaspora at the Michael C. Carlos Museum, Emory University. Applicants should submit a short biography, an artist statement, and 5-7 work samples as image files or links by the September 13 deadline. Studio visits with selected artists will occur in October 2024, and all applicants will be notified of their status by early December 2024.

Eligibility is limited to Mississippi residents. Original works in all mediums will be considered. Artists must upload their submissions online here for the initial review.
