For today’s “In The Know with Gino”

As the new year kicks off, the Hunter Museum of American Art is thrilled to announce its latest endeavor – the Teen Art Show, inviting creative minds aged 11 to 19 to submit their artworks for an exhibition that explores the intersection of art and technology.

The theme for this year’s show is “Technology and Me,” encouraging young artists to express their perspectives on the role technology plays in their lives. The museum is seeking submissions from local and regional talents residing in Tennessee, Georgia, or Alabama.

Submissions are open until Friday, January 12th, 2024, at 5 p.m. Each artist is allowed to submit one 2D visual artwork, film, fiber art, photograph, or literary work that adheres to the specified size guidelines. Two-dimensional artworks must not exceed 3ft by 2ft, including the frame and/or mat.

All interested participants must be able to deliver their artwork to the museum between January 24th and January 28th, 2024. Accepted artists will be notified by January 17th, and the chosen artworks will be displayed at the Hunter Museum from February 1st to February 23rd, 2024.

To obtain more information or submit an entry, interested participants can contact Amanda Buxton at abuxton@huntermuseum.org. Detailed information about the submission process and guidelines can also be found on the museum’s official website at huntermuseum.org.

Not only does this showcase promise to be a visual feast for visitors, but special recognition and prizes will be awarded to outstanding entries.

So, young artists, dust off your brushes, charge your cameras, and let your creativity shine at the Hunter Museum’s Teen Art Show!
