The City of Coconut Creek has announced a new initiative for young art enthusiasts.
The program is called “On Wednesdays We Wear Paint,” It offers a unique opportunity for children aged 7 to 14 to explore their creativity through various paint mediums, including acrylic, watercolor, and oil paint.
The program is divided into two age-specific sessions spanning six weeks, from January 24 through February 28. Session I, intended for children aged 7 to 10, will run from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Session II, catering to those aged 11 to 14, will be held from 7:45 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. Each session promises an engaging and educational experience in the world of painting.
Participants will be provided with canvases and paints, ensuring a fully equipped environment for their artistic journey. The cost is $70 per session for Coconut Creek residents and $90 for non-residents. The program emphasizes the ease of transactions by accepting only credit card payments, with no cash or checks currently being accepted.
Held at the Community Center at 1100 Lyons Road, the program aims to foster a nurturing and creative space for young artists. However, spaces are limited. Each session can accommodate only 10 participants, underlining the exclusivity and personalized attention each participant will receive.
Registration is ongoing until the slots are filled. Prospective participants can register online at CoconutCreek.net/Webtrac or by walk-in at the Community Center or the Recreation Complex at 4455 Sol Press Boulevard. For those new to the online system, setting up a WebTrac account is mandatory.
