SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS)—Critical Mass was held at ArtSpace Friday night, and works by artists from nine northwest Louisiana parishes were displayed.
Over one hundred works of art are on display at Art Space until June 18.
During the Critical Mass 12 event, critics discussed select works of art and named a winner in the Literary and Visual Arts categories.
Callie Dean was awarded a $5,000 check for her work of literature. She said, “It’s an honor to be here with all of the artists in the community, but then to have this is just extra special.”
Winners received a $5,000 award and a commission to create a solo exhibition, performance, or literary presentation. Those who don’t win receive valuable critiques of their work.
The Critical Mass 12 pieces are available for public viewing at Artspace every Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. until June 18th. For more information on Critical Mass, visit the ArtSpace Shreveport website.
