LAPEER — Art from students in grades kindergarten through 12th grade is on display at Gallery 194 in downtown Lapeer.
Every year local art instructors are invited by the Center for the Arts of Greater Lapeer (CFA) to select outstanding student artwork for display in Gallery 194. It’s an opportunity to celebrate young artists and see their work. This year, the work of students of all ages is combined into one show along with art chosen to be entered into the Michigan Art Education Association Region 10 show.
The art is a wide range of styles and made with varying materials and showcases the talent of area students. Participating schools include North Branch (elementary, middle and high schools), Imlay City (middle and high schools), Chatfield School, Borland Elementary, Weston Elementary, Art Her Academy, Almont (middle and high schools), Schickler Elementary, Murphy Elementary, Dryden High School, Bently High School, Lynch Elementary, Turrill Elementary and Lapeer High School.
The CFA hosted students at a reception at the gallery on Feb. 10.
The student art show will be on display until March 16.
Gallery 194 is located at 194 W. Nepessing St. in downtown Lapeer. Hours are from noon to 6 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. Admission to the gallery is free (donations welcome).
