Last August, No Hype Fest made a promise to bring a lot of, well, hype to the summer of 2024.
Citing unforeseen circumstances, organizers and Boston DJ duo SuperSmashBroz made the decision to halt No Hype Fest in 2023, vowing to come back “stronger than ever” the following year. And this weekend, the local-heavy music showcase returns right on schedule.
Over a dozen performers are on deck for the fourth edition of No Hype Fest, which takes over Artists For Humanity this Sunday (August 25) from 3 to 10 p.m. As in past years, the 2024 lineup largely focuses on area acts, but also pulls in national talent like Jacksonville musician Seddy Hendrinx, Queens rapper Flee, and London-born emcee Tobes44. Acts on the bill with Massachusetts roots include Teamarrr, kei (pictured above), Tyler Loyal, and Clark D, as well as DJs Icy Fevur, Towfu, and SuperSmashBroz themselves. Providence will also be well-represented via sets from Hennessy, Where’s Nasty, and DJ Corv.
This summer marks the second time that Artists For Humanity has hosted No Hype Fest, following past editions at the Institute of Contemporary Art and Underground at Ink Block. General admission tickets start at $25, while VIP passes — which include a drink ticket, access to a secluded lounge area, and a goodie bag — are $60.
