A total of six nonprofit organizations and individual artists in Chautauqua County have been awarded grants through the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA)’ latest funding cycle. The grants, recently announced by Governor Kathy Hochul, total $145,000. It’s part of $46 million in grant awards supporting over 1,000 nonprofit organizations and 500 individual artists statewide. Locally, the funding consists of four Support for Organizations grants and two Support for Artists grants.
The following organizations/artists in Chautauqua County to receive NYSCA funding include:
- 1891 Fredonia Opera House: $40,000 (Support for Organizations)
- Infinity Visual and Performing Arts: $30,000 (Support for Organizations)
- Reg Lenna Center for the Arts: $25,000 (Support for Organizations)
- Roger Tory Peterson Institute: $30,000 (Support for Organizations)
- Chautauqua Institution: $10,000 (Support for Artists – John Brantingham: Western New York Wilds in 10,000 Words)
- Chautauqua Institution: $10,000 (Support for Artists – Sharyn Rothstein: “Best for Baby,” a new play)
