DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) –Putnam Museum is inviting families to embark on a cinematic journey during the Summer Family Film Series from Aug. 16 to 18 in the GIANT Screen Theatre.
The facility is rolling out the red carpet to celebrate the 85th anniversary of The Wizard of Oz, the 65th anniversary of Disney’s Sleeping Beauty, and the latest adventures of Po in Kung Fu Panda 4.

The Putnam is also excited to extend a call for artists for the 2nd annual Garbage Glam Recycling Fashion Show to be held on Oct. 5 from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
Inspired by last year’s JUNKraft exhibit, designers are challenged to create a “garment” using at least 70% reused materials.
Prizes will be awarded to winning designs–including $500 for the winner.

Later in the fall, Putnam Museum will be hosting the first-ever 48 Hour film festival on Oct. 18 to 20.
After 48 hours of filmmaking, local creatives will submit their short films for the GIANT Screen Theater. Votes will be cast to choose a fan favorite.

The event starts October 20th at 5 p.m. with food, drinks, and a chance to meet some of the filmmakers.
Movie screenings till get underway at 7 p.m.
