The Savannah Juneteenth Fine Arts Festival has been postponed until further notice.
A post on the Juneteenth Fine Arts Festival event page shared around 5 p.m. Friday stated the following:
“In the last 24 hours, weather forecasts have indicated a significant chance of heavy rain throughout the day tomorrow, and chances continue to increase. We have made the difficult decision to postpone the Savannah Juneteenth Fine Arts Festival, originally scheduled for Saturday, June 22, 2024. The safety and well-being of our community, artists, performers, vendors, and sponsors are our top priority. While the weather might change, we must act decisively to ensure everyone’s safety and to provide clarity for all involved.
We have begun receiving calls from concerned artists, vendors, and sponsors, prompting us to make this announcement now. We understand the excitement and anticipation surrounding the Juneteenth Fine Arts Festival, and we share in your disappointment. This event is a celebration of culture, history, and artistic expression, and we are committed to ensuring that it takes place under safe and enjoyable conditions.
A new date for the festival will be announced within the next few days. We are working diligently to secure a suitable time and venue that will allow us to celebrate this important occasion to its fullest potential.
