Shared.Futures event brings together artists and scientists: UNM Newsroom

A team from The University of New Mexico presents Shared.Futures, a unique collaborative event that brings together science and art at Adult Night at ¡Explora!, the center for activities in science, technology and art in Albuquerque.

Saved Futures 2024

Shared.Futures is an ArtScience collaborative that brings together local scientists and artists to communicate scientific perspectives through artistic mediums to showcase what our shared futures can look like. The exhibition is aimed at people who want to know more about STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) and experience the sci-art space.

The 2023 Shared.Futures SciArt Exhibit kicks off on Friday, April 19, from 6 to 9 p.m. at ¡Explora! for adults 18 and up. Tickets are available online for $10 for adults and $7 for seniors. For those who can’t make the opening event, the work will remain on exhibit at Explora through May 15.

“The Shared.Futures ArtScience exhibit aims to highlight the possibilities in our shared futures and provide inspiration for how we can look forward with hope, despite the very real challenges we face,” said Yolanda C. Lin, event coordinator and assistant professor at UNM Geography and Environmental Studies.
