SPARKS, Nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) — The City of Sparks announced the launch of the Sparks City Hall Gallery—a new initiative dedicated to showcasing the work of local artists—and officials are asking for submissions. This program features a rotating gallery located in the foyer of Sparks City Hall, with new artists highlighted every quarter.
The gallery space, a 12 ft. x 7 ft. wall inside the main entrance of City Hall, experiences an average foot traffic of 2,000 visitors per month.
Artists are invited to submit a single body of work, consisting of 4 to 10 pieces for consideration. The Sparks Arts and Culture Advisory Committee will review all submissions and select one artist to have their work displayed for a three-month period. There is no fee to submit.
“We’re excited to create a new gallery space inside our own Sparks City Hall,” Special Events Supervisor Raquel Monserrat said in a statement. “This space will give our resident artists an opportunity to reach new audiences and art buyers, while City of Sparks employees are inspired by a local artist’s work.”
Interested artists should submit an artistic statement along with examples of their proposed body of work by Sept. 23. For more information and to apply, visit here.
