SXSW Sydney 2024 Adds 30 More Artists to Music Program

SXSW Sydney has bolstered its second edition with the addition of 30 more artists to its music program.

Artists from Australia, Aotearoa, South Korea, India, and many other countries will make their way to SXSW Sydney this October. The event’s programming team Reg Harris and Ruby Miles selected the artists from over 1200 submissions.

Announced today, Auckland’s rising rap star Brandn Shiraz, Australian rockers A. Swayze & the Ghosts, and WA musician Noah Dillon are some of the 30 new artists who will showcase their music at SXSW Sydney 2024.

They join the likes of Auckland dream-pop band Phoebe Rings, Aussie surf rockers The Grogans, Sydney punk-rock outfit The Buoys, cult shoegaze artist RINSE, and historical Indonesian band Voice of Baceprot.

Heartbreak High multi-hyphenate Ayesha Madon, rising rappers J-MILLA and Yung Milla, and Colombian psych-rock trio BALTHVS are also on the lineup.

Grammy-nominated UK artist Jorja Smith will also perform at SXSW Sydney 2024 as part of her Australian tour.

SXSW Sydney badge holders can secure their spot at Smith’s show at ICC Sydney Theatre on Tuesday, October 15th by registering here.

You can check out the music program artists below. They’ll perform across iconic Sydney venues and music institutions from October 14th-20th.

Last year’s inaugural SXSW Sydney featured rising stars like Miss Kaninna, Inkabee, Radio Free Alice, and Molly Payton.

Rolling Stone AU/NZ had a strong presence at last year’s edition through The Courtyard Presented by Rolling Stone at SXSW Sydney, hosted in partnership with Jim Beam, which brought four days of great live music and fun times to the event.

Each day, crowds of eager music fans gathered below the Sydney skyline at the Powerhouse Museum in Ultimo to enjoy a fantastic lineup of over 20 artists and refreshing drinks.

The inaugural SXSW Sydney also featured a standout session by acclaimed Chicago rapper Chance the Rapper, celebrating 50 years of hip hop.
