Three of the four Voice Coaches have made their picks for the Live Shows, setting up nine of the Top 12 spots as we head toward the Season 24 finale. On Tuesday night, it was finally time for Team Legend to take the stage and complete the Top 12, and that meant some tough choices for Coach John Legend.

Legend headed into the Playoffs with a stellar group of five artists, including Blind Audition additions Kaylee Shimizu, Taylor Deneen, and Lila Forde, plus Battle Steal Mac Royals and Knockouts Steal Kristen Brown. But of course, that’s not the whole team. Thanks to the rise of the new Super Save feature on Season 24, Legend was able to call back one performer from any Team to join his group in the Playoffs, and he chose AZÁN, who was stolen from Team Legend in the Battles by Team Niall, only to be eliminated in the Knockouts.
So, who did Legend pick?
Team Legend: The Three Artists Going to The Voice Season 24 Live Shows
Let’s cut to the chase: For Team Legend, Mac Royals, Lila Forde and AZAN will be advancing to live shows.
After thrilling performances from all six of his artists, Legend thanked them for their work and made it clear that the decision would not be easy.
“I’m so torn,” he said. “You’re just so absolutely talented and it’s been an honor to work with all six of you.”
Then it was time to pick the Top 3. Legend led things off by selecting Royals, an artist he’s been watching from the beginning with a bright future in his chosen genre.
“I can’t stop raving about Mac,” Legend said. “I really want to hear his record, I want to see him on the biggest stages. I feel like R&B needs Mac.”
Second, Legend chose Forde, a Four-Chair Turn from the beginning who’s consistently wowed the Coaches with her soulful performances.
“I chose Lila because she’s been magical every single round,” Legend said. “No one else like her in the competition.”
And finally, cementing one of the most complex journeys on The Voice Season 24, Legend chose AZÁN to round out his Top 3, which means she’s now bounced back from losing both a Battle and a Knockout round to advance all the way to the Live Shows. It also means she’s the first and only Super Save in Season 24 to make it all the way to the Live Shows.
“My Super Save AZÁN rose to the occasion and gave her best performance yet,” Legend said. “I had to reward her by putting her into the Lives.”
“Each of them knows who they are. Their stage presence is very assured, like they belong in this moment. They’re real artists, and I’m excited to take them to the Lives.”
