The Ghostbusters are back in a new portrait series from Afterlife artist Richard Philpott

Illustrator and alternative movie poster artist Richard Philpott has just shared a new portrait series, centered around the best, the beautiful, the original Ghostbusters!

Having collaborated with Sony Pictures, Philpott’s previous work has graced the covers of both the 4K Ultra HD release of Ghostbusters: Afterlife and the limited edition score by composer Rob Simonsen, and in today’s feature, he continues to broaden his portfolio with remarkable renditions of Egon, Winston, Ray, and Peter, each based on their appearance from the classic 1984 comedy.

Wearing their trademark tan khaki uniforms, each of the Ghostbusters are ready for action, with Proton Packs strapped onto their backs and Neutrona Wands in hand or, instead, another go-to ghost-catching accessory, with Egon holding his customary PKE Meter and Ray grasping onto a smoking Ghost Trap.

As previously mentioned, Philpott collaborated with Sony Pictures, an opportunity that arose when the director of Afterlife, Jason Reitman, was tagged in a postcard-esque illustration from the artist, eventually leading Reitman to choose the art as the cover of the film’s 4K Ultra HD release. Following this, Philpott received a commission to produce additional artwork for the limited edition vinyl of the film’s score. The gatefold packaging featured a similar illustration, showcasing the Ecto-1’s journey to the Shandor Mines and the expected inclusion of the mischievous yet adorable Mini-Pufts.

While prints of the above have yet to be made available, we’d still recommend visiting Philpott’s official website for more of his work and giving him a follow on Facebook, Instagram, or X.
