Jockey’s Ridge State Park Visitor Center
300 W Carolista Dr, Nags Head, NC
Opening reception Thursday, April 17 at 6 p.m.
The Friends of Jockey’s Ridge kick-off celebrations for the State Park’s 50th anniversary with a first of its kind invitational art exhibit. Twenty well-known local artists will highlight the connection between art, nature and community with original works inspired by Jockey’s Ridge.
The opening reception is scheduled for Thursday, April 17th at 6:00pm inside the State Park’s Visitor Center. The reception offers the opportunity to meet with several of the artists and is the first public viewing of pieces representing a range of mediums and styles.
All art will be for sale, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Friends of Jockey’s Ridge. The mission of the Friends of Jockey’s Ridge is to support, protect, and promote the Ridge as a significant geologic and cultural feature of the Outer Banks. Last year, the Friends group helped fund over 400 educational programs at the park, supported facility updates, and continued to be a leader in the conversation about protecting and preserving Jockey’s Ridge.
Artists include Brad Price, Mark Brothers, Marcia Cline, Fen Rascoe, Taylor Williams, Mojo Collins, Matthew Grimes, Holly Nettles, Rick Nilson, Jill Block, Jaquelin Perry, Lyn Jenkins, Megan Rubino, Dawn Moraga, Larry McCarter, Willow Rea, Carolina Coto, Sis Hall, and Billy Moseley.
The show will run through Mother’s Day, May 11th, 2025.
