The SoundCloud store is launched The global streaming service recognises that streaming alone is not enough for artists or fans. As a result, the platform is constantly working to strengthen the connection between artists and fans. With the merchandise shop for artists, you can now sell artist branded products for free. And with 100% commission – no hidden fees, they promise! Wow.
SoundCloud Store: Limited editions and essentials for music lovers
With the launch of the SoundCloud Store, SoundCloud is taking this a step further by allowing a select number of Next Pro artists (for now) to create and sell exclusive merchandise to their fans. The aim is to keep artists focused on their music, while giving them the opportunity to generate revenue beyond streaming. Sounds interesting.
For music lovers, the SoundCloud Store offers cool t-shirts, hoodies and limited edition accessories that reflect the connection between artists and listeners, alongside the music of your idol. Fans can show their love of music and support for their favourite artists not only by listening, but also by wearing and buying unique merchandise.
Show your support for your favourite artists and best of all: SoundCloud charges you fairly!
In addition to artist merchandise, the SoundCloud Store also features the Essentials Collection – a collection of merchandise with a SoundCloud look that allows fans to show their support for the platform. This collection includes items such as t-shirts, hoodies, caps and more.
The SoundCloud Store is currently only available in the US, EU and Canada. Designing merchandise is initially reserved for a limited number of Next Pro artists (including Wiz Khalifa, Denzel Curry and Armani White), who own 100% of the rights to their merchandise. Artists who are interested can also apply to participate.
Fans who want to buy merchandise from their favourite artists must also be in the US, EU or Canada and can visit the SoundCloud Store to select their items. Proceeds from sales will go entirely – 100% – to the artists. It’s a welcome announcement at a time when musicians can earn very little from their music. Hopefully, SoundCloud will maintain these modalities when they open the store to all artists and fans.
