TPAC honors 10 high school students at the 2024 Young Artists Awards


TOPEKA (KSNT) – Students at area high schools got some extra money for arts education.

The Topeka Performing Arts Center (TPAC) honored 10 high school students at the 2024 Young Artists Awards. These students were recognized for their contributions to their school and community.
Ranging from nine award categories such as dance, visual arts and more, they all received a scholarship from TPAC and Security Benefits ranging from $500 to $1000.


“It’s honestly an honor,” scholarship recipient Alaina Barry said. “I’m so grateful and appreciative that I got to be here, and I’m chosen out of how many people did this. It’s honestly really an honor.”

“I’m just very happy to be here, and I’m thankful to everyone who’s gotten me here,” scholarship recipient Elaina Sinclair said. “It was my choir director actually who invited me to come here and I’m very thankful that she did.”

Mayor of Topeka Michael Padilla was a guest speaker at Wednesday nights event.
