An edited version of the Deadpool & Wolverine trailer inserts the classic Wolverine mask onto Hugh Jackman’s face.
Hugh Jackman is looking more like his comic cook counterpart than ever in the latest trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine. Even so, someone has taken it a step farther by digitally inserting the iconic Wolverine cowl onto Jackman’s face in footage from the new trailer.
Shared on X by VFX artist Taran Singh, the edited trailer compiles some of the different clips of Deadpool and Wolverine together. The change is that Wolverine is wearing his mask, truly transforming Jackman’s Logan into the comic book version of the iconic X-Men character. Also included in the clip are some before-and-after shots so viewers can get an idea of how the cowl was added to the video. The edited trailer can be watched below.
Ryan Reynolds Honors Late Deadpool & Wolverine Production Designer Ray Chan
Longtime Marvel Studios art director Raymond “Ray” Chan passed away at 56.
It’s still possible that Wolverine will actually wear his mask in the real movie as well, and that this moment is being kept as a surprise not revealed in the trailer. It’s been rumored that a comic-accurate mask would be featured in the movie. Even with so many callbacks and references, however, Deadpool & Wolverine has also been developed as a film meant to help draw new fans into Marvel movies. That means the Easter eggs and major returns will be fun for longtime fans, but nobody is required to do prior research in order to enjoy Deadpool & Wolverine.
Deadpool & Wolverine Does Not Require Homework
“I was a good student in school. I’ll do my homework as an adult. But I am definitely not looking to do homework when I go to the movies,” Levy said of how the film was made, per the Associated Press. “I very much made this film with certainly a healthy respect and gratitude towards the rabid fan base that has peak fluency in the mythology and lore of these characters and this world. But I didn’t want to presume that. This movie is built for entertainment, with no obligation to come prepared with prior research.”
Deadpool & Wolverine Has ‘Mind-Blowing’ Post-Credits Scene, Deadpool Creator Confirms
Notable comic book writer and Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld teases an intriguing post-credits scene in Deadpool & Wolverine.
Deadpool & Wolverine is not considered to be Deadpool 3, but a film that stands on its own uniting the Deadpool and Wolverine characters. There will be several characters from the previous Deadpool films with the same actors reprising their roles, though it’s also expected that Deadpool & Wolverine will be filled with major cameos throughout. X-Men movie characters are known to be among those included, but it remains to be seen just how many will pop up.
Deadpool & Wolverine will be released in theaters on July 26, 2024.
