YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A local artist is seeking sponsors for his latest work featuring Youngstown’s pop culture.
Fine graphic artist Bob Barko Jr. has been creating artwork and exclusive collectibles highlighting Youngstown, Ohio for 28 years.
His work features Idora Park, Isaly’s Mill Creek Park, the city’s steel mills, theaters, historic neighborhoods, contemporary and historic downtown and more.
“If you are a Youngstowner, there is something in this artwork for you — Idora Park, Isaly’s, Mill Creek Park, YSU, Brier Hill, Smoky Hollow, the movie theatres, the skyline, the steel mills, the Here In Youngstown mural, the Canfield Fair and much more,” Barko said. “Plus, it includes graphics from my ‘YO’ collection – a series of decals, magnets, totes and shirts featuring Youngstown. It’s all here, capturing our celebrated ‘localism’!”
“A Retrospective YO” is a 22” x 28” limited edition piece of fine graphic art, printed in full color. The artwork features a stylized version of Barko’s YO logo, originally created in 2006, which is inset with images from his art catalog, spanning nearly 30 years. The run is limited to 280 prints, at $40 each.
Barkos is ready to go to press with the new piece and is seeking to fill 18 remaining sponsorships at $100 each.
For their $100 patronage, the 18 sponsors will each receive their choice of one of the remaining 18 artist proofs and their name listed on the art certificate that will accompany each piece.
Single, duet, trio, quartet, and quintet sponsorships are available from $100 to $500 respectively.
To reserve a sponsorship, contact Barko via phone or text at 330-881-5819 or email at steeltownstudios@gmail.com by July 10.
Bob Barko Jr.’s “A Retrospective YO” will be released for public sale at the Summer Festival of the Arts, July 27 and 28 at Wean Park in downtown Youngstown.
