The impressive creative oeuvre of the painter Vojislav Voj Stanić represents the permanent value of Montenegrin culture and its unbreakable bond with the greatest reaches of European fine art, said the President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović.
A large retrospective exhibition of Stanić’s works was opened last night in the gallery of the Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts, and Milatović said that he was very pleased that he and his wife Milena attended the event.
“Flawless biography, authentic creative expression and elegance of character made Voj Stanić not only the bard of Montenegrin painting, but also one of the most significant figures of our time. To use his thought that perhaps best describes the importance he has for Montenegro: ‘Everything that is seen and hear lasts forever. Just as we see long-gone stars, so our image and our voice will always last and wander in the infinity of space.’ We celebrate Voj Stanić, we celebrate life, we celebrate art,” wrote Milatović on the social network Iks.
