The Must-See Jewels at TEFAF Maastricht 2023

From March 11 through 19, a treasure trove of incredibly rare jewels can be explored at one of the world’s top art fairs, the European Fine Art Foundation’s TEFAF Maastricht in the Netherlands. Staying true to the standards set by previous TEFAF fairs, the jewels—along with Old Masters paintings, antique furniture, and more—were carefully curated to share stories of the past. Van Cleef & Arpels’ Heritage necklace, for example, was born out of the Arpel brothers’ interest in traveling and different cultures around the world; the piece (made for Indian maharajas) displays Indian influences with juicy carved emeralds and sapphires.
