The College for Creative Studies is pleased to announce Dean of Undergraduate Studies, Chair & Assistant Professor of Art Education Dr. Amy Ruopp was named The Michigan Art Education Association’s 2023 Higher Education Art Educator of the Year.
As an artist and educator, Dr. Ruopp brings a unique perspective to the leadership of CCS. With 25 years of education experience in a K-12 setting, she oversees the Undergraduate programs at CCS in addition to the teaching certificate program and the Master of Art in Art Education program.
Dr. Ruopp received an award of recognition at the annual Michigan Art Education Association Conference this month highlighting a career dedicated to arts education, her exceptional skills as an educator and her impact on the Art Education community.
Founded in 1949, The Michigan Art Education Association’s mission is to promote quality visual arts education through leadership, service, and professional development – providing networking and collegial support for visual art educators throughout Michigan. Unified with the National Art Education Association, it is currently one of the largest state art organizers in the nation.
