Facilitator of Creative Workshops for ages 65+ Opportunities – ArtsHub Australia

Expressions of Interest are invited from experienced community art professionals to quote on the delivery of a series of workshops and public art outcomes for the 65+ community in Knox.

The priority of this project is to deliver and support a program that addresses social isolation and loneliness for seniors across the municipality, particularly people 65 plus years. This will include people living with Dementia and their carers, consideration around gender equality and accessible to all. The project will provide people with the opportunity to connect with others in the municipality.

By fostering connections among individuals through art, the aim is for people to unite, sharing aspects of their lives and culture through this medium, resulting in a collaborative, multi-participant creation.

We are looking to enlist an experienced community arts professional to create and deliver an extensive program to support the following objectives:

  • Develop a suitable creative project that will engage, create connectedness, and have a positive outcome for the 65 plus community.
  • Provide an activity that is easily accessible for the targeted audience, for example fibre art, ceramic hand building or painting/drawing. Submissions will outline their preferred medium/media for the project.
  • Coordinate and develop creative and engaging workshops targeted for people 65 plus at several locations across Knox.
  • Using the creative output from the workshops the Community Art Professional will create a combined final artwork, this will be displayed in a Council owned public space to celebrate the conclusion of the project and to share with the wider community.

For more information and to obtain a project brief, please email publicart@knox.vic.gov.au
