Join us for an unforgettable night of captivating stories and soul-stirring melodies with Rhiannon Giddens, Lisa See and members of the Silkroad Ensemble as part of the American Railroad tour on Monday, Nov. 13 from 6PM-7:30PM in the Union Station Ticket Concourse. RSVP for this free event here.
The subject of the evening is the Transcontinental Railroad — the people who built it and the communities impacted by it. The railroad connected to L.A. in 1876 and triggered the growth of our region.
In addition to music, there will be a discussion led by best-selling author Lisa See. Her great-great-grandfather worked on the Transcontinental Railroad as described in her memoir, On Gold Mountain.
The program includes performances by Giddens, Wu Man, Haruka Fujii and guest artist Pura Fé — all well-known and highly-regarded. Silkroad was founded by Yo-Yo Ma in 1998 as a model for exchanging ideas, tradition and innovation across borders.
Please join us for this very special event! Union Station is easy to reach via the Metro A, B, D and E Lines, Metrolink, Amtrak and many bus lines. Parking is also available for $8. More about the event is here.
