Registration has opened for spring classes for youth and adults in visual and performing arts at the Mosesian Center for the Arts in Watertown, and registration continues for summer youth programs. A call for art for a spring exhibition is also open.
Visual and Performing Arts Classes
Mosesian Arts offers over thirty performing and visual arts classes for children, teens, and adults. Visual arts classes include painting, drawing, printmaking, and mixed media for adults, and fiber arts, comics, and introductory classes for young artists. Classes in the performing arts include acting, voice, improv, and technical theater.
The low-cost Visual Narratives program has also begun a new session in the Aging Creatively Initiative for adults age 55 and older, funded in part by the Marshall Home Fund.
Enrollment has opened as well for participation in MCA’s Watertown Children’s Theatre spring musical, Fiddler on the Roof Jr. for young actors in Kindergarten through Grade 9.
Summer Stages & Studios
Summer arts education programming at Mosesian Arts fosters an engaging, welcoming, and creative community where students entering Grades 1-12 can explore new art forms, focus on specific interests, learn from professional teaching artists, and make connections with other participants in a variety of programs grouped by age and arts discipline.
Two-week theme-based programs, running July 8 through August 30, include visual and theater arts, interdisciplinary activities and choice time. Performance-focused programs include the popular Teen Musical Institute and a new Teen Acting Intensive.

Call for Art
A call for art for Entwined: Visual and Textual Narratives is open through April 1.
There are strong connections between literature and visual arts. Words paint pictures and artists interpret and are influenced by stories. Artists are invited to submit artworks inspired by literature, the written word, folk tales, and tales of all kinds — from fairy tales to myths to narratives that are autobiographical or speak of the human condition.
About Mosesian Center for the Arts
The Mosesian Center for the Arts is a performing and visual arts venue on the Charles River in Watertown, Massachusetts. The 30,000 square foot facility, located in an historic 1894 manufacturing shop on a former U.S. Army arsenal, houses a 339-seat main stage theater, a flexible black box theater, exhibition galleries, art classrooms, and a rehearsal studio.
