Once again, Tacoma Sister Cities invites young artists and authors to delve into the pressing challenges of climate change and its profound impact on cities. This year’s theme encourages students to unleash their creativity and showcases the transformative power of resilient cities that can adapt and flourish in the face of a changing climate.
Entries may be submitted in one of six categories:

Art – Classic Medium

Photography
·
Written Word-Poetry
·
Written Word-Prose
·
Digital Art
·
Original Music
The rules and awards have changed from previous years. This year, entries will be accepted by age:
GROUP A – 13-15 years old First Prize: $100
GROUP B – 15-18 years old First Prize: $200
NOTE: There must be a minimum of three (3) entries for a category to qualify for a cash prize
Young people from all Tacoma sister cities are urged to enter. In the first three years, Tacoma Sister Cities have received entries from Kitakyushu, Japan, Boca del Rio, Mexico and Fuzhou, China. Although the international entries do not compete with Tacoma students for cash prizes, the best five international (sister city) entries in each category will enter the Sister Cities International YAAS and be eligible for SCI cash prizes.

April 5: Tacoma Entry Deadline
April 15: Judging results to Category chairs
April 17: Winning entries selected; winners notified
April 23: Awards Ceremony
