Aluplast, German Fenestration Specialist Plans 2 Million Euro Investment in India Over 3 Years


Leading German fenestration specialist, aluplast a market leader in uPVC Windows and doors today announced an investment of 2million Euros over a period of three years in its Indian operations aimed at further consolidating its leadership position and ramping up its R&D and production capacities in the country.

Commenting on the proposed investment, Ravi Balakrishnan, Managing Director, aluplast India said, “right from inception, aluplast has been at the forefront of innovation and has brought new momentum to the industry, which over the years has become the norm for the sector and has turned the company into a leading innovator in the sector. India is one of the top 5 markets for aluplast in Europe and this investment will bolster India’s ambitious plans to ramp up its operations to meet the growing demands and expectations for uPVC window profile systems in the India and Asian markets”.

 aluplast has been participating in ZAK Doors and Windows Expo for more than 5 years and this year it is being held at BCEC, Mumbai. Speaking about aluplast’s participation at ZAK Doors and Windows Expo, Ravi Balakrishnan said, “aluplast is participating in the 19th International Trade Fair on Doors, Windows, Facades, Technologies and Products as a Supporting Partner. Participating in this premier event mirrors aluplast’s emphasis on quality of its product offering and technological superiority and is a reinforcement of its commitment to India to offer the best-in-class uPVC window and door profile systems to the discerning Indian populace”.

 On this occasion, aluplast announced the launch of two new “Made-in-India, Made-for-India” uPVC windows and door products – the Prima Slide and Ideal 1000 range of products. The Prime Slide is available in 2 track and 3 track with additional track options. The Ideal 1000 range on the other hand has a 3-chamber profile system and serves as a good choice for outward opening windows. It accommodates glass upto 24 mm in thickness.

Announcing the launch of these two new products, Ravi Balakrishnan, Managing Director, aluplast India, said, “with the launch of these products, aluplast has once again demonstrated its commitment to the Indian market which stand out for their durability, minimal maintenance and energy efficiency. They are engineered to excel in the diverse climatic conditions of India thereby ensuring long-lasting performance for homeowners and builders alike. A true Made-in-India; Made for India products”.

Setting up a manufacturing unit in Vadodara in 2016, aluplast commenced its India operations with 2 extrusion lines and 1 lamination line. The demand for the company’s qualitative uPVC window profile systems saw further investments and today 3 extrusion lines and 2 lamination lines are in operation in the Vadodara facility. The state-of-the-art manufacturing facility is spread across 3000 sq mtrs with a production capacity of 3,600T/year. The facility currently manufactures Ideal 2000 and Easy Slide uPVC Window Profile Systems to cater to the Indian market.

aluplast India employs 100 personnel in its Indian operations and recorded a turnover of Rs. 800 M INR last year, while globally the company posted a turnover of over 600 million Euros.
