Hospitals of Providence to open Eastlake Medical Campus with acute care hospital

The Hospitals of Providence announced Tuesday that it will be developing a new, state-of-the-art medical campus along Eastlake, effectively expanding the community’s access to medical care.

The campus will include an acute care hospital, which will offer emergency services, radiology, cardiology, neurology and orthopedics.

A medical office building will house physician clinics, bringing primary care and specialty care closer to home for residents of far East El Paso.

In a statement, Tasha Hopper, Chief Executive Officer for The Hospitals of Providence East Campus and overseeing the Eastlake project said,

We are committed to fulfilling the healthcare needs of our community and this investment and development of a medical campus will certainly help to care for our neighbors and families in far East El Paso.

Similarly, Nicholas Tejeda, Western Group President for Tenet Healthcare said,

We are so excited about our plans for the Eastlake medical campus and our planned projects and investments will only further enhance access to healthcare services in this area. We could not be more proud to continue our tradition of growing with El Paso and improving access to care.

The Hospitals of Providence has served the Horizon City community since opening its campus — a neighborhood hospital dedicated to providing emergency room services and inpatient care — there in 2017.

The expansion and addition of a medical campus will improve access to care throughout the surrounding communities including Horizon City, Socorro, Clint and Fabens, among others.
