Artists’ Studio in the Foothills (ASiF) 2024 Annual Resident Artist Show through March 16

Amanda Paoletti, the director of Artists’ Studio in the Foothills (ASiF) and resident artist Roseanne Burke take us on a tour of ASiF during the 2024 Annual Resident Artist Show.

The exhibit features new work by over 20 resident artists and instructors in a wide range of two and three dimensional media – including oil, acrylic, watercolor, encaustics, mosaics, fiber, mixed media, ceramic sculpture & pottery.

The exhibit features a new selection of works by resident artists in the center’s main gallery – including a collaborative grid installation of 16″ square panels – plus individual exhibits in each of the private studios/mini galleries and shared community classroom areas.

INSPIRATION for ASiF’s 2024 EKPHRASTIC FANTASTIC

Artists’ works featured in the 2024 Resident Artist Exhibit will have opportunity to be chosen and featured in ASiF’s 2nd Annual Ekphrastic Fantastic: Art-Inspired Poetry Event – a gallery show scheduled to exhibit immediately follow the Resident Artist Show and to be celebrated with a live poetry reading event in ASiF’s community classroom at the end of March. ASiF’s annual Ekphrastic Fantastic event is in collaboration with the Nevada County Arts Council, and is an official event of the Sierra Poetry Festival. Its mission is to create an annual event which brings together — to celebrate and cross pollinate — two distinct and thriving communities of local visual artists and poets.

A Visual Arts Community Resource

The Artist’s Studio in the Foothills is a 4000 sq ft fully equipped studio arts center featuring private and shared studio space, three community classrooms and a gallery to promote resident and visiting local and regional artists.

Now in its 15th year, ASiF is home to over 20 resident artists and instructors offering a wide range of year round programs, classes and art camps for adults and children, including weekday and weekend workshops in various media such as drawing, watercolor, acrylics, mixed media, sculptural ceramics and fiber arts and more.

ASiF is committed to the support and development of a visual arts focused center for artists, offering the community a facility where art can be made, displayed and appreciated. Professional artists are offered opportunities to support themselves as working artists through gallery sales and teaching; Student artists of all ages are offered mentoring in ongoing weekly classes in a supportive, inspiring atmosphere that focuses on creating community.
