FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WFFT) — The Arts United Center honored local artists who have contributed to northeast Indiana culture through the 2024 Arts United Awards Wednesday.
It was the organization’s 16th year holding the event, and this year they recognized 27 nominees.
This year’s winners are:
– Ben Wedler: Volunteer of the Year
– Tyler Bennet: Emerging Artist of the Year
– Suzanne Rhee: Distinguished artist of the Year (group)
– Taylor Morris: Distinguished artist of the Year (individual)
– Jewish History and Art Illuminated: Outstanding Art Endeavor
“You’ll see a lot of the recipients end up being people who’ve been contributing, you know, decades of their life as volunteers that have been continuing to support the work of all sorts of different productions in the community,” Rachelle Reinking with Arts United said.
Reinking says each of this year’s winners made a great impact on the local culture and invested in their communities.
